Hello Harmony!
I really enjoyed reading your blog post on open-learning principles and how they guide learning. I have to agree with you on how open learning principles became apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic. I also happened to work alongside children during that time, as I was a day camp instructor during the summer of 2020.
I like how you stated that making learning more accessible online allows for extra support when from home. This is a very interesting perspective on online learning. In my writing, I focused more on the virtual classroom, rather than the home environment. I never realized that the elimination of in-class distractions may help some kids accelerate learning at home. To stay focused on the benefits of online learning, I also read the article you posted on artificial intelligence, and how the author pointed out that no one seems to be educating students on how to use AI properly. I could not agree more.
To build off of that, I had an idea of making mandatory AI classes, similar to other safety precautions such as plagiarism and cyberbullying. Do you think students would benefit from mandatory courses involving proper AI use? In my opinion, I think it could benefit their learning ability, while also bringing awareness on what not to do.
Thank you!
